Miss Bridget T Sexton is a female Oral Health Therapist.

Bridget graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Oral Health in 2013. She worked in Tasmania for seven years before she joined us here at Leeming Dental and has a wealth of experience working in both the public and private sectors.

Bridget is a kind, gentle practitioner and has an eye for perfection! She most enjoys treating children and is great at calming nervous patients.

As an Oral Health Therapist, Bridget’s main role is in the prevention and treatment of tooth decay and gum disease. At Leeming Dental, Bridget undertakes Oral DNA testing to look for the presence of harmful bacteria in the mouth that can cause periodontal disease. She works together with our patients to determine an oral hygiene plan in order to prevent these bacteria from causing disease in the future!

The bacteria in our mouth can also contribute to many systemic health issues including heart disease, diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease, rheumatoid arthritis, poor nutrition, pregnancy complications & stroke. By testing the bacteria in the mouth, we are able to identify risk factors for these diseases early on and help to prevent them! Bridget uses Guided Biofilm Therapy to clean the bacteria off the teeth regularly so that we are able to significantly reduce the risk of the harmful bacteria being swallowed and affecting the rest of the body.
