Dr Vanessa Jimenez is a female Specialist Orthodontist who speaks Spanish (as well as English).
Dr Vanessa Jimenez was born and raised in Venezuela where she qualified as a dentist at Universidad Santa Maria. Vanessa has been involved in orthodontics since very early in her career. After graduating with a Bachelor of Dental Science, Dr Jimenez completed a Certificate in Orthodontics and worked privately for three years in an orthodontic practice as well as general dentistry.
Always striving to improve her education Dr Jimenez moved to Australia to undertake her specialist degree in Orthodontics at The University of Sydney. Her research thesis was on the topic of root resorption associated with orthodontic tooth movement.
Vanessa also completed examinations to become a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh in the Discipline of Orthodontics. She has also been granted membership from the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in the Special Stream of Orthodontics.
Dr Jimenez maintains an active interest in education; she attends national and international conferences always striving to stay on top of the latest developments. She is particularly interested in aesthetic orthodontic treatment using aligner therapy (Invisalign) and invisible braces (Lingual Orthodontics); as well as the use of temporary anchorage devices to facilitate otherwise difficult treatment goals in patients with missing teeth and dento-facial discrepancies.
Vanessa currently enjoys practising all aspects of orthodontics, treating both children and adults with an emphasis on achieving facial and dental harmony. Treatment includes interceptive and full orthodontic therapy in children and adolescents; stressing the importance of timely intervention. Dr Jimenez also enjoys cosmetic orthodontics and complex interdisciplinary cases. Her relationship with patients is of the utmost value, along with remaining passionate, motivated and devoted to providing optimal patient care.
