BDSc (Hons) (Qld), DClinDent (Perio), Specialist Periodontist
Dr Sweta J Paliwal is a female Specialist Periodontist who speaks Hindi (as well as English).
Dentistry can be a gruelling and challenging 5-year course to complete. So it is to her credit that Dr Paliwal graduated from Dentistry in 2003 from the University of Queensland with First Class Honours. Sweta then built up her clinical experience over the next five years by working across the private and public dental sectors on the Gold Coast and within the Northern Rivers and Hunter Valley regions of NSW.
In 2008, Dr Paliwal was honoured with selection for a three year specialist training program within the field of Periodontology at Griffith University. Upon graduation in 2011, as a Registered Dental Specialist (Periodontist) Sweta moved into full time private specialist practice.
With a passion for teaching and ongoing thirst for knowledge – in 2017 Dr Paliwal secured a post overseas in the United Kingdom to assist with research and teaching within the Periodontology department at the prestigious London Eastman Dental Institute. The research at the Eastman was within the field of periodontics and focused on the possible risk of acute vascular events after invasive dental treatment procedures.
Dr Paliwal has served as president of the Australian Society of Periodontology (QLD) in 2012, and treasurer of the AMARA Gold Coast Dental Study Group from 2014-2016. She maintains membership of a variety of professional organisations – including : the Australian Dental Association; International Team for Implantology; Australian Society of Periodontology; and the Australian & New Zealand Academy of Periodontists; as well as being a “Fellow” of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons.
At FDS we are very fortunate to have within our team a clinician with such a strong foundation in academics and teaching. With a focus on patient care and excellence in all that she does and a kind gentle manner – you can rest assured that you are in “safe hands".
