Dr Steven W Parker is a male General Dentist.
Dr Steven Parker graduated with honours from the University of Queensland in 1985. He then joined the Defence Force as a Dental Officer.
In 1997 Dr Parker was selected to attend the Diploma in Clinical Dentistry (Oral Surgery) at the University of Otago in New Zealand which he passed with distinction. This was a full-time training program which provided post-graduate training in Oral Surgery and Oral Medicine.
In 1998 (and again in 2004) he completed the Early Management of Severe Trauma course held by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
In 2000 he was selected to attend the Diploma in Clinical Dentistry (Conscious Sedation and Pain Control) at the University of Sydney which he completed and was awarded the ASDA award for excellence as the top qualifying student.
Dr Parker resigned from the Regular Army, but transferred to the Reserve Forces on promotion to Lieutenant Colonel as a consultant in Sedation and Pain Control.
Dr Parker has over thirty-five years of dental experience, and in particular, has provided oral surgical and sedation services to private practices in the Sydney region (principally the Hills region) for over twenty years. His practice is restricted to oral surgery and sedation where he has performed well over 15,000 surgical procedures.
Dr Parker has lectured widely throughout Australia and internationally on topics concerned with pain and anxiety control and conducts the ‘Advanced Local Anaesthesia’ and ‘Pain and Anxiety Control in the Dental Office’ workshops for the Australian Dental Association, where he teaches fellow dentists advanced techniques. He also runs Oral Surgery courses for dentists.
