BDS (Syd), General Dentist
Dr Steven H Doan is a male General Dentist.
I graduated from the University of Sydney in 1993, and after spending a year at a teaching hospital at Westmead, I was given the opportunity to set up and manage the public dental service in Camden Wollondilly.
After four years in the public sector, I joined a large, long established private general practice. This is where I further developed my already proficient surgical skills under the mentorship of one of Sydney’s leading Oral Maxillofacial surgeon at the time. He saw that I had a great deal of potential to become a specialist surgeon and encouraged me to further specialise in this particular field of dentistry.
Two years later, I was offered and accepted a position as Visiting Clinical Fellow at the prestigious Tokyo Dental College. I spent two years here studying advanced surgery and implant dentistry in the Oral Maxillofacial surgery department.
I enjoy all aspect of general dentistry as it gives me variety in my daily practice but my passion lies in the area of restoring complex clinical cases in full mouth reconstruction with dental implants, crowns and bridges. Helping those in needs gives me immense pleasure and pride in the knowledge that my skills have served a special purpose and helped made a difference to someone’s life. Whether it be helping someone overcome their dental phobia, or restoring them to full function I am deeply touched and grateful for the opportunity to live my purpose by putting a smile on my patients’ face.
