Dr Stephan I Kantharajah

BDent (Hons) (Syd), BCom (Syd), FICCDE, General Dentist

Dr Stephan I Kantharajah is a male General Dentist who speaks Tamil (as well as English).

Dr Stephan received the prestigious John Steven Hill Memorial Prize before graduating from Dentistry with Honours at the University of Sydney. He is a fellow of the International College of Continuing Dental Education (FICCDE) in the field of Orthodontics in General Practice.

Having worked in public and private practice across metropolitan Sydney and the South Coast, Dr Stephan had very definite ideas about creating the perfect practice, balancing first-class care with a relationship-based service – something that he noted was missing in modern practice.

Stephan really enjoys treating children, and believes that every child and their parents should have access to affordable and exceptional dental care. He thinks it’s very important for kids to have a positive experience at the dentist, and notes that one of his specialities is treating children with special needs.

In addition to special needs patients, he feels passionate about reducing dental anxieties at the dentist. He has developed many techniques to help ease the fears that so many patients experience, and he aims to make every appointment as pleasant an experience as possible.

His specialities range from orthodontics (both fixed braces and clear aligners) and treating phobic patients, to children’s dentistry and general dentistry. As well as seeing patients at his dental practice, he is able to share his specialised technical knowledge as a VDO (Visiting Dental Officer) at Linguard Private Hospital (Newcastle), Brisbane Waters Private Hospital (Central Coast) and Hunters Hill Private.

Dr Stephan is known for his chair-side manner and light touch.
