Dr Briggs qualified at the London Hospital in 1987 and worked in a National Health Service, private dental practice in the Midlands of England for a year. In early 1989 he immigrated to Australia to join a totally non-amalgam dental practice where he spent his first three and a half years running the dental practice in Roxby Downs and servicing Andamooka and Maree with the Royal Flying Doctors Service.

In 1992 he moved to Adelaide and joined Ozone Dental to further advance his knowledge in the field of holistic dentistry. In 1993 he became one of the founding members of ASOMAT (Australian Society of Oral Medicine and Toxicology) serving on its board until it was disbanded.

As well as doing courses in homeopathy and acupuncture, Dr Briggs obtained a Fellowship from the Australian College of Nutritional & Environmental Medicine (ACNEM) program in 1998.

Over the years, Dr Briggs has lectured to various interest groups with respect to their concerns about the use of dental amalgam and his more holistic approach to dentistry. He strongly believes in this holistic approach and feels that it is vital if people are to achieve their optimal health.
