Dr Serina Y Ma is a female Specialist Orthodontist.
Serina completed her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (Honours) in 2004 and a Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (Orthodontics) at the University of Sydney in 2012. Her Doctoral research focused on the problematic condition Obstructive Sleep Apnoea, and she now specialises in this at the ortho practice. Serina has recently had her article published in the American journal of orthodontics and dentofacial orthopaedics.
Serina served as a dentist in the Royal Australian Air Force, having been inducted as a Flight Lieutenant and commanded the dental section at RAAF Tindal in the Northern Territory. Following her military career, she worked with rural indigenous communities in the NT and Bourke, in private practice and as a clinical tutor (part-time) at the University of Sydney in the Oral Dental Surgery Department.
Serina was awarded Fellowship into the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in the general dental stream and Membership in the specialist orthodontic stream. She has completed her certification of the Australian Orthodontic Board in recognition of her high standard of clinical work.
Serina enjoys running and travelling off the beaten track.
