Dr Ryan Lee is a male Specialist Periodontist who speaks Korean (as well as English).
Ryan graduated with Bachelor of Medical Science from the University of Sydney in 2001, majoring in Immunology and Biochemistry. He subsequently completed a Bachelor of Dentistry from the same university in 2005 and then worked in private practices as a general dentist for three years at suburban areas of Sydney. Thereafter, he moved to the UK for his specialist training in Periodontology at the Eastman Dental Institute, University College London, which is regarded as one of the most prestigious post-graduate dental education centres in Europe. Ryan completed and was awarded of a Master of Clinical Dentistry (Periodontology) with Distinction and a Certificate in Periodontology by the European Federation of Periodontology in 2011.
Upon his return from London in the early 2012, Ryan joined the Griffith University, taking up a position of Lecturer in Periodontology and Implant Dentistry. In 2017, Ryan has joined the University of Queensland as a Senior Lecturer in Periodontology. He currently combines this position with his part time specialist periodontic practice at BCPI.
Ryan is a part-time PhD candidate at the Griffith University, researching the effects of different implant surface characteristics on inflammation and osseointegration in diabetic conditions. He is also involved in numerous research projects, collaborating with national and international universities. He has published in the peer-reviewed international journals, and lectured nationally. Ryan is a member of the International Team for Implantology, Australian and New Zealand Academy of Periodontists, Australian Society of Periodontics and European Federation of Periodontology. Ryan is a native Korean speaker.
