Dr Rosie M Pritchett

BDS (London), General Dentist

Dr Rosie M Pritchett is a female General Dentist.

Dr Rosie Pritchett grew up in the North of England and has always enjoyed active jobs and working with people. She has fond memories of patrolling the icy cold shores of Sunderland whilst working as a Beach Lifeguard during her University holidays. The spot was popular with kite surfers who could sometimes get into trouble with the rip tides and strong winds. Rosie moved to London to study dentistry at Barts and the London (now Queen Mary University London) and was lucky to be one of two students chosen for a three-month exchange programme with the Karolinska Institute, Sweden. At the time, the institution was pioneering digital dentistry and modern restorative techniques such as 3D printing. This sparked an ongoing interest in using technology to improve patient care, while having a sound understanding of traditional methods.

While at University, Rosie and her team won the prestigious Association of Dental Groups Undergraduate Gold Award for their time spent volunteering and running oral health workshops for the homeless community of East London. Rosie has always been passionate about sharing oral health advice, particularly as oral health relates to general health and overall wellbeing. She is particularly thorough with examining the mouth for any signs of oral cancer. Following University graduation, Rosie worked within the Newcastle Dental Hospital, UK where she gained experience with oral surgery, children’s dentistry, and restorative dentistry. As complex cases were referred to the hospital, she gained a multitude of experience providing solutions for tricky scenarios. For instance, helping to care for patients affected by oral cancer and loss of teeth or medical conditions such as cerebral palsy.

Rosie and her partner moved to Melbourne in 2018, where she began working in public and private practice – with a period of work in Alice Springs and Darwin, as well as country Victoria.

She had the opportunity to work for a year as the Dental Registrar at Monash Medical Centre in Clayton, Melbourne. This was a busy role which involved helping hospital patients and being on-call for dental emergencies. She understands how stressful it can be for parents when accidents happen; and has helped many young patients out-of-hours who have fallen and damaged their teeth. She also gained experience caring for patients with cleft lip and palate and has good knowledge of the development of the teeth and jaws.

Dr Rosie has now joined the team at Avenue Dental Bli Bli and is enjoying the Sunshine Coast lifestyle with her young family. She likes to help patients feel comfortable, regardless of the current condition of their teeth, and plans treatment to suit each individual. She enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, particularly restoring teeth back to health and endodontic treatment.
