BDSc (Qld), General Dentist
Dr Robert YC Lin is a male General Dentist who speaks Mandarin (as well as English).
Dr Robert Lin grew up in Brisbane and attended Brisbane State High where he was a school prefect. He then attended the University of Queensland and obtained a Bachelor of Dental Science degree in 2009. After graduating, Robert spent some time working for Queensland Health in 2010 to further hone his skills in oral surgery and emergency dental treatment. Since then he has worked in private practices in Townsville, Gold Coast, Brisbane and Sydney.
Robert likes to make appointments light hearted and comfortable for the patient. He takes pride in ensuring that his patients feel at ease and enjoys using his continuously growing knowledge to answer any questions they may have. Dr Lin has a holistic approach to dentistry which includes examining the patient’s breathing, sleep, TMJ, head and neck as he understands that being a dentist is more than just treating the teeth but examining the overall health of the patient. Robert is focused on making his patients healthy because he suffered from multiple health and dental issues which were directly related and can be diagnosed and treated successfully.
Dr Lin is highly committed to his continuing professional development hence travels consistently both interstate and internationally to attend dental conferences in addition to reading many books and journals. He is skilled in all areas of general dentistry but his passion is in orthodontics and creating healthy patients with beautiful faces and smiles, not just straight teeth! Robert has undertaken numerous years of part-time post-graduate study in orthodontics and is a member of the Australian Dental Association, Australian Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, American Academy of Craniofacial Pain, International Association for Orthodontics (IAO) and faculty member of the International Academy of Advanced Dentistry (IAADent). In 2018, the quality of Dr Lin’s orthodontic treatment was recognised at an international level in Hawaii where he received a fellowship award from the IAO. Robert also travels interstate to teach orthodontics to dentists on a monthly basis in addition to running an orthodontics study club here in Brisbane.
