Dr Robert De Poi graduated with a BDSc. from the University of Melbourne in 1984 Dux of his graduating year. He then maintained a general practice for many years during which time he developed an interest in Periodontics. He was awarded the Kenneth JG Sutherland Prize by the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in 1987 after completing his RACDS. He was on the RACDS Victorian Regional Committee for 10 years and chair between 1995 and 1997. He was on the Australian Dental Association Victorian Branch Council from 2008-2012. Robert registered as a Periodontist after receiving his Master of Science and Certificate in Periodontics from the Indiana University School of Dentistry in 2002. He was awarded the American Academy of Periodontology Foundation Dr. & Mrs. Gerald M. Kramer Scholarship for Excellence in 2002. He now maintains specialist practice in Moonee Ponds and is an honorary Fellow of the Melbourne Dental School and involved in teaching in the Graduate Periodontal Program at the University of Melbourne. He has an interest in dental implant research through the ADAVB Evident Foundation. He is currently on the Professional Provident Fund Advisory Committee for the ADAVB and is a Fellow of the International Team for Implantology.
