Dr Pramesh I Hettiarachchi is a male General Dentist.
Pramesh Hettiarachchi was born in Colombo Sri Lanka and moved to Australia when he was 3 years old. He grew up in Wollongong and earnt his undergraduate degree in Nanotechnology in the University of Wollongong. During this degree, Dr Hettiarachchi worked in the Wollongong Science Centre and Planetarium, where his skills and passion for science education blossomed.
He then moved to Sydney to study Dentistry in the Bachelor of Dentistry Program in the University of Sydney. Pramesh’s interests in dentistry include fixed prosthetic work such as crowns, bridges and implants but is a strong believer of early intervention to resolve dental problems, stating that "if we can catch the problem early, we can avoid more complex, invasive and expensive treatments".
In out of clinic hours, Dr Hettiarachchi often attends Board approved educational courses to further feed his eagerness for learning. Pramesh takes pride in his ability to explain complex (often scientific) concepts in a simple and passionate manner. Dr Hettiarachchi also loves working with children, feeling almost like a child himself. His passion and enthusiasm is contagious.
