Dr Paul A Hanks

BDS, MSc (Ortho), Specialist Orthodontist

Dr Paul A Hanks is a male Specialist Orthodontist.

I grew up in the UK and received my dental education at the University of Wales. After spending several years working in the fields of Children’s Dentistry and oral surgery, I went into general dental practice in London.

I have always been drawn to the management of the developing dentition and facial growth, and so I undertook and completed a Masters Degree program in Paediatric Dentistry at the prestigious Eastman Dental Institute in London, achieving a distinction. Continuing my dental education, I successfully completed the Fellowship in Dental Surgery examination from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh. Following this, I continued my postgraduate studies with a 3-year orthodontic specialist orthodontic programme again at the Eastman Dental Institute and achieved a Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons in London.

Throughout my career, I have studied extensively and continued postgraduate studies and training. I have been the recipient of numerous awards for clinical excellence and published articles in orthodontic and scientific literature. Recent treatment modalities include using the most up-to-date orthodontic techniques for the management and treatment of children and adults and new lingual appliances. I am certified in the use of Incognito and at present.

I am honoured to be involved with the orthodontic department at the University of Melbourne sharing my knowledge and experience with postgraduate and undergraduate students.

"In order to give patients the high quality, individualised and personalised care they deserve, all patients will be treated by me personally"

I am an active member of the Australian Dental Association, the Australian Society of Orthodontists, the British Orthodontic Society, and the American Association of Orthodontics. I am proud to be able to bring orthodontics to the community we live in working with my wife Jacqueline, and reaching out to regional communities.
