Dr Nomita Gonsalvez is a female General Dentist who speaks Hindi (as well as English).
Dr Nomita Gonsalvez is one of the principal dentists of our practice. In addition to graduating second from the School of Dental Science at the University of Melbourne in 1998, she also received several prizes, including the Ernest Joske Prize and the Royal Dental Hospital Auxiliary prize. She undertook an exchange program as part of her formal dental studies in the UK, at Guys College London and Cambridge hospitals.
After graduation she was appointed the dental resident at Monash Medical Centre in 1999 (one of only two coveted positions available in Victoria). Here she provided dental care to both hospital inpatients and outpatients with complex medical and dental conditions who are unable to be routinely treated in the community. She worked closely with the visiting dental specialists - Dr Philip Zimet, Dr Jeff Kestenberg, Professor Quail and Maxillofacial surgeons Mr. Bill Beasly and Mr. Rowan Story.
As part of her post graduate training, Nomita has passed the first part examination of the Royal Australian College of Dental Surgeons (RACDS).
Her main interests include full face orthodontics and cosmetic dentistry. To expand her knowledge and expertise in these areas she has attended educational programs conducted by leading experts such as Dr. Skipp Truitt, Dr. Derek Mahony and Dr. Steven Olmos. She has also completed mini-residency programs with them. To further refine her orthodontic skills she worked over a 12 month period under the supervision of orthodontist, Dr Derek Mahony.
In 2002, she jointly led a volunteer Rotary dental team that provided dental care to Tibetan refugees in northern India. In addition to managing the practice, she enjoys caring for young son and daughter. Nomita strives to achieve excellence in her work and takes pride in educating all her patients.
