BDS (Adel), General Dentist
Dr Nicholas M Weightman is a male General Dentist.
Nick has over 20 years of experience in clinical dentistry and teaching since graduating from the University of Adelaide in 1996.
After meeting his partner in the Netherlands during a holiday, Nick sold his share of his practice in Blackwood, Adelaide in 2016 to pursue a desire to live, work and teach in Europe. Nick passed the Dutch Dental Registration procedure and was offered a position as a part time teacher and lecturer at the Academic Centre of Dentistry in Amsterdam in the departments of Dental Radiology and Dental Hygiene. Alongside working in private practice in Amsterdam, Nick was able further his professional development in the areas of prevention and diagnostic (3D) imaging.
Nick has always been open minded and the opportunity to live and work in Amsterdam, taught him to experience and respect several different cultures, philosophies and processes which broadened his horizons academically and personally.
Having said that, after 10 years of missing the Australian culture, He has just returned and has chosen Alice for friends, sunshine and a more relaxed lifestyle.
Patients have complimented him on his communication skills, empathy and patience to listen to and address their individual needs. He enjoys problem solving and thinking outside the box, whilst practicing preventive and minimum intervention philosophies. He also enjoys forming bonds with patients and it is very important for me have a good relationship with his work team and to look forward to his working day ahead.
Nick loves aspects of Dentistry such as periodontics, endodontics and simple oral surgery. He is fascinated by tooth wear, erosion and parafunctional changes to the teeth and how that affects oral function.
