Dr Margaret Preston is a female General Dentist.
Dr Preston completed her dental degree at Melbourne University in 1968, being awarded an Honours Degree and being the first female to be dux of the course. After a short time working in Melbourne, she travelled to London to gain further and wider experience in general practice dentistry. On returning to Melbourne in 1971, Dr. Preston was invited to become a part-time teacher to undergraduate dental students at Melbourne University, a role she would continue to fill for the next 31 years while also working in private dental practice.
Continuing education has always been a vital focus of her professional life and she has attended many courses in all aspects of dentistry both nationally and internationally to maintain her knowledge of current research, materials, techniques and practice. Dr. Preston’s interests in dentistry are many, including preventive practice and dental education, periodontics, endodontics, prosthodontics, restorative and cosmetic dentistry, paedodontics and oral medicine and surgery.
Dr Preston has been a committee member on the Dental Health Education Committee of the Australian Dental Association (Vic ) and a secretary of the Alpha Omega Dental Society.
Dr Preston has also returned to teaching undergraduate students at the Melbourne University dental school after a gap of 12 years.
Dr Preston started working with Dr. Leon Goldberg , her brother, in 1985 and now continues to work with his son, Dr. Jonathan Goldberg and with Dr. Dominic Ho in a happy, progressive and collegiate practice.
