Dr Lucy M Devlin is a female General Dentist.
Originally from Northern Ireland Dr Lucy Devlin joined our team at Maven Dental Cairns City in 2019. Lucy studied at the University of Glasgow graduating in June 2010. After returning home from Scotland and working in Belfast at a general practice she embarked on an adventure to Australia. Planning to only be here for a year, she fell in love with the tropical north Queensland way of life and four years later she’s still here.
After spending eight years honing her skillset in general dentistry Lucy chose to take on some further study. One of her biggest assets is her ability to engage with children and ensure a positive dental experience to foster a positive attitude towards dentistry. For this reason Dr Devlin chose to commence a Masters degree from the prestigious Eastman Dental Institute at the University College of London. This will allow her to diagnose and treat more complex paediatric dental problems.
Lucy is committed to ensuring her patients have a positive dental experience and is very experienced in treating the dentally anxious. Dr Devlin is highly trained and experienced in performing dentistry under inhalation sedation and general anaesthetic for complex treatments or to help her more nervous patients. She have extensive experience in all aspects of general dentistry from minimally invasive dentistry and tooth whitening to crown and bridgework and root canal treatment.
Over her many years in general practice she has undertaken many courses to ensure that her patients are offered the best and most up to date treatments. These courses have ranged from the restoration of dental implants to complex veneer cases. Lucy have also completed some short term orthodontic courses and in the future would like to do more training in this area of dentistry to be able to offer her patients more complex treatment.
