BSc (Columbia), BDent (Syd), General Dentist
Dr Lisa Tong is a female General Dentist.
Dr Tong has a Bachelor of Science from Columbia University (New York) and a Bachelor of Dentistry from the University of Sydney. During dental school, she worked as a dental assistant on weekends at a private practice for two years.
For her clinical rotations, Lisa shadowed general dentists, oral surgeons, and specialists from Columbia University and NYU dental schools. After graduating, she worked for a few years in private practices, a public hospital, and in corporate sector in Sydney.
Lisa grew up in New York, living in the heart of the city for more than 20 years before moving to Australia. After graduating college, she worked for a finance company before realising dentistry was her real passion.
With clinical interests in gum treatment, restoratives, crowns, and root canals, Dr Tong firmly believes that a patient should have a solid foundation of healthy gums before any teeth procedures. This ensures long-lasting, aesthetic, and functional results. She is a preventative, minimally invasive dentist who tries to save existing teeth and prevent problems from occurring or from getting worse. Having lots of dental procedures done herself when she was younger, Lisa knows how it feels to be in the chair and to experience different treatments.
Dr Tong enjoys seeing patients smiling at the end of the day. Making just a little improvement in their lives brings her joy. She likes being challenged with different problems and thinking outside of the box when devising up treatment plans for patients.
