BDSc (WA), General Dentist
Dr Katherine Lau is a female General Dentist.
For me, dentistry is more than drilling and filling (and billing, as some people would say). What I like about being a dentist is being able to exercise my brain with complex scientific theory and techniques, as well as using my artistic skills in creating good looking teeth and brilliant smiles. I enjoy meeting people from all walks of life and building a rapport through friendliness and humour. I strive to make people of all ages comfortable – even though most claim they don’t like the dentist! I make the effort to tailor the appointment to individual patients so that they leave with a smile on their face and the feeling they received the best possible service from us.
You will find I have a calm and patient nature and I will always take the time to explain things fully. I have high attention to detail in my work and enjoy being artistic and creative, both in dentistry and other projects. When not at work I like to keep my mind on its toes with useless trivia, puzzles and board games and my heart pumping with regular exercise and sport.
I enjoy all aspects of general dentistry including aesthetic/cosmetic dentistry, preventive dentistry, paediatric dentistry and endodontics. I aim to continue expanding my knowledge and experience so that I can provide the optimum service and information to my patients.
Some continuing professional development courses I have undertaken recently include:
