Dr Julia L Winterburn is a female General Dentist.
Dr Julia is a caring and highly motivated dentist with a special interest in Oral Surgery. She qualified in 2010 from the University of Sheffield, one of the top dental schools in the UK. She has worked for 2 years as a Maxillofacial Surgery Senior House Officer in a busy NHS hospital, performing multiple Oral Surgery procedures under local anaesthesia, general anaesthesia and sedation, and also assisting with extensive Head & Neck Surgery.
Since moving to Melbourne in 2013, she has worked as general dentist in private practice and in the Oral Surgery Department of Royal Dental Hospital Melbourne. As part of her role in RDHM, she performs daily oral surgery: surgical extractions, including impacted wisdom teeth, canine exposures and biopsies. She is also involved with teaching the dental students from Melbourne Dental School, and newly qualified dentists, including occasional lecturing.
Dr Julia also has a passion for volunteering; her most recent trip to Ethiopia consisted of 8 weeks looking after patients undergoing large facial reconstructive operations to treat deformities caused by the terrible disease, NOMA.
Julia is continually motivated to develop professionally and is attends lectures and courses at every opportunity.
She has a caring and thoughtful chairside manner and strives to make the appointment as comfortable as possible for every patient.
