Dr Johnny CY Chan is a male General Dentist who speaks Cantonese (as well as English).

Dr Chan is a qualified General Dentist with over 20 years of experience. He is a member of the ADA (Australian Dental Association), fellow of the PFA (Pierre Fauchard Academy), qualified Dental Implantologist and a master of dental laser. Dr Chan also has special interest and experiences in orthodontic.

Originally from Hong Kong, Dr Chan moved to Australia in 1988. After completing his HSC, Dr Chan began dental training at The University of Sydney. In 1997, Dr Chan graduated with double degrees in Bachelor of Dental Surgery and Bachelor of Science in Dental Research.

After graduation, Dr Chan has been working in both private and public sectors across metropolitan and rural areas in New South Wales. In 2007, Dr Chan opened his clinic in the heart of Nowra where his approach to dentistry is “To provide the best quality of care to his patients by continuing his education and learning from the best”. He has equipped his clinic with the latest ‘state of the art’ technology in a friendly and caring environment.

During his early career in 2000, Dr Chan has been working for many well-known orthodontists in Australia and the world. He has obtained a lot of experience from them to treat patients with brace and aligners. Since 2012, Dr Chan has been invited to assist teaching the orthodontic course conducted by the ADA. In 2020, Dr Chan furthered his qualification and obtained the graduate diploma of Orthodontics from JCU.

Dr Chan also has many years of experience in placing dental implants to replace missing teeth and implant-supported denture. In 2013, Dr Chan decided to hit the books again and formally qualified as dental implantologist from Charles Sturt University.

In 2019, Dr Chan is became the first Australian dentist obtained the international qualification of “Maser of Science in Lasers in Dentistry” from the RWTH University, which is one of the two universities in the world that can grant this qualification.

In 2021, Dr Chan also completed his Master of Science in Sleep Medicine from the University of Sydney.

Dr Chan speaks both English and Cantonese, lives locally and believe in “Giving back to the community” in the way of sponsoring local organisations, sports teams and working with local schools to provide work experience for our young local students.
