Dr John D Schaefer is a male General Dentist.
Graduating in 1993 from Adelaide University, John worked in regional practices in Gawler and then Mt Gambier, before relocating home in 2002. John returned to the Barossa Valley (having grown up in Freeling) purchasing both the Nuriootpa Dental Surgery and the associated Kapunda clinic.
John found they quickly outgrew these premises, the outdated equipment and 80’s decor. He had the vision and determination to provide something to the Barossa community that had never been achieved before in primary health care by undertaking the building of a state of the art, modern, specialised dental clinic.
The name ‘Barossa Dental’ was registered in 2005, it wasn’t until 2008 that Johns vision came to fruition with the amalgamation of the two smaller practices into the modern practice we have today.
Having worked in regional dental practice for 20 years, John has developed a comprehensive approach to his patients dental health. His thirst for knowledge has seen him travel far and wide to undertake continuing education courses, and he has enjoyed bringing back new techniques to the Barossa. John has a special interest in complex rehabilitation of broken down mouths, often involving dental implants, and in cosmetic cases.
