Dr John J Martin is a male Specialist Orthodontist.
After completing his schooling John entered the Faculty of Dentistry and graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Science from the University of Sydney in 1973. For the next five years John worked in general practice in both Sydney and London treating patients from all walks of life. During these years John travelled extensively through Europe, Asia, Africa, Russia and Scandinavia.
John completed his specialist degree in orthodontics at the University of Sydney and graduated with his Master of Dental Science degree in 1980. John opened his own specialist orthodontic practice in Dee Why the same year. John opened his second Northern Beaches orthodontic practice in Mona Vale in 1987. A branch practice was also established in the Blue Mountains in 1982, which John visited for 10 years.
To ensure practising with the latest orthodontic technology, John has undertaken numerous continuing education courses. John attends local conferences and annual international conferences in Europe and the USA. The majority of John's patients are teenagers. He also treats a number of adult patients; however in the field of orthodontics his main interest lies in early interceptive treatment for young children.
John is one of the most experienced specialist orthodontists on Sydney's Northern Beaches. He is proficient in all modalities of orthodontics including fixed and removable appliances, clear (ceramic) and stainless steel brackets (braces), and the Invisalign technique.
John is an active member of numerous groups and societies including the Australian Dental Association (ADA), the Australian Society of Orthodontists (ASO), the European Orthodontic Society (EOS), the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) and the Manly Warringah Dental Study Group (MWDSG).
