Dr Ian D Hewson is a male Specialist in Special Needs Dentistry.
Ian, a founding partner, has retired and is now a consultant to the practice. He is a registered Special Needs Specialist, with considerable experience in all aspects of dentistry including implant placement, oral surgery and crown and bridge. He is a credentialed practitioner at Northpark Private, St Vincent’s and Mercy private and Cotham Private Hospitals. Ian has lectured widely within Australia and overseas and has published more than 20 papers in well recognised journals. Ian has held many clinical positions outside the practice including the Director of Dental Services at the Alfred Hospital, senior consultant to Head and Neck Cancer Units at St Vincent’s Hospital and Box Hill Hospital, Honorary Consultant Dentist to the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit Royal Melbourne Hospital and demonstrator and supervisor Special Needs Dentistry post-graduate training. He is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons and a member of the Australian Dental Association.
