Dr Greg Paton is a male Specialist Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon.

Dr Paton was awarded his MBBS from the University of Queensland Medical School in 1993. After serving for 5 years in the Royal Australian Navy as a medical officer he studied dentistry at the University of Adelaide. Dr. Paton was awarded his BDS in 2001 and received a University Medal for academic excellence.

Dr Paton’s Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training was undertaken in Queensland at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Royal Brisbane Hospital, Princess Alexandra Hospital and the Mater Hospital. He was admitted as a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in 2005 and was awarded the Australian and New Zealand Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons fellowship medal for the highest result in the FRACDS(OMS) examination.

During 2006 Dr Paton was in private practice on the Sunshine Coast and held Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery posts at both the Royal Brisbane Hospital and Logan Hospital. In 2007 Dr Paton undertook a fellowship year, with 6 months spent at St James’s Hospital, Dublin and 6 months at the Plastic and Maxillofacial Surgery Department at the Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne. During the fellowship year Dr. Paton gained extensive experience in orthognathic surgery (corrective jaw surgery), which is now his area of special interest.

Dr Paton is appointed as a specialist Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Consultant at the Gold Coast Hospital. He lectures at Griffith University and is actively involved in the training of future Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons through his public hospital posts.
