Dr George Dimitroulis is a male Specialist Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon who speaks Greek (as well as English).
George has been in specialist practice since 1995 after completing his surgical training in Melbourne, the UK and USA. He is a Consultant Maxillofacial Surgeon at St.Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne where he has trained generations of Maxillofacial Surgery Registrars. He is also a research supervisor to Medical, Dental and Postgraduate students by virtue of his Honorary appointment to the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences at the University of Melbourne.
George has published extensively in the international literature including authorship of over half a dozen books, numerous chapters and over 60 scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals. He is Section Editor for the International Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and sits on the editorial board of over half a dozen other international scientific journals.
As a globally recognised surgeon and author, he has been invited all over the world as a guest and keynote speaker by various national and international organisations spanning 5 continents to present topics ranging from TMJ surgery to Surgical Research. For many years, George has run Fellowship and Observership programs in TMJ Surgery at Epworth and St. Vincent’s Hospitals which attracts surgeons from around Australia and from all over the World.
More recently, he has been involved in the development of ground-breaking 3D printed Oral & Craniomaxillofacial medical devices that have received national and international media attention. George is the Founder of OMX Solutions, a MedTech start-up company based in Melbourne that has partnered up with the CSIRO and the Engineering Schools of Melbourne, Monash and RMIT Universities to design and commercialise innovative and cutting-edge medical implants for the global market.
In his spare-time he takes out wisdom teeth.
