Dr Geoffrey R Young is a male Specialist Endodontist.
Dr Young obtained his Bachelor of Dental Surgery with First Class Honours and the University Medal from the University of Sydney in 2002. He completed his specialist training at the University of Melbourne in 2007 and has worked in private specialist practice ever since. In 2011, Dr Young became the first Endodontist in New South Wales to obtain Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (RACDS) in the Special Field of Endodontics. This is a highly specialised qualification of the RACDS.
Dr Young is the current President of the Australian Society of Endodontology (NSW Branch) after serving on the Executive Committee for over 5 years. The Australian Society of Endodontology, established in the 1960’s, is a special interest group promoting interest and participation in the study and advancement of Endodontics.
Dr Young teaches Endodontics to dental students one day per fortnight at the University of Sydney, and has lectured both locally and internationally to dentists and students. He currently runs a two-day intensive course for the Australian Dental Association teaching advanced techniques in Endodontics. He is also an Examiner for the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons and the Australian Dental Council, a reviewer for the Australian Endodontic Journal, a member of the Australian & New Zealand Academy of Endodontists and the International Association of Dental Traumatology, and has published in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
Dr Young is married with a young family. In his spare time he enjoys photography and tropical aquarium keeping.
