BDSc (WA), FICOI, FICCDE, General Dentist
Dr Eu Guan G Koh is a male General Dentist who speaks Cantonese, Japanese and Mandarin (as well as English).
Dr Koh graduated from the University of Western Australia in 1996 with a Bachelor of Dental Science. Since then he has developed a keen interest in orthodontics, undertaking further training by completing a Fellowship in Orthodontics in 2002. Dr Koh has been practicing orthodontics in general practice for the past 10 years.
A firm believer of early intervention to correct developmental problems such as thumb sucking and tongue thrust swallow habits, which result in malocclusion, Dr Koh knows that these “habits” are difficult to correct in the teenage years when they have become ingrained. He suggests that early intervention utilising the following devices may correct many of these issues and will often result in less complicated treatment in the future.
Accredited in the use of “Invisalign” (a series of clear aligners, which progressively straighten teeth) treating selected cases depending on suitability, Dr Koh primarily uses fixed appliance therapy (braces) for the majority of complex cases.
Dr Koh believes orthodontics is for any age and that it will not only improve appearance and confidence but can improve oral health, function and lifestyle. Orthodontics can help align teeth for placement of dental implants thereby replacing teeth that may have been missing for years or are genetically missing. Crowded teeth are harder to clean, which often leads to food impaction causing periodontal disease and Halitosis (gum disease and bad breath).
Adult orthodontics is becoming more prevalent and accepted as people increasingly become aware of the benefits.
