Dr Daniel JY Tan is a male Specialist Prosthodontist who speaks Mandarin, Cantonese and Malay (as well as English).
Dr Daniel Tan completed his undergraduate training in 2010 at the University of Queensland, graduating with a Bachelor of Dental Science. In 2017, Dr Tan completed three years of full time Doctor of Clinical Dentistry post-graduate training in Prosthodontics through the University of Sydney. He has also obtained membership with the Royal Australian College of Dental Surgeons.
With keen interest in academic research in oral rehabilitation and implant prosthodontic techniques, Dr Tan leads a research team investigating the effects of progressive oral implant rehabilitation on masticatory, quality of life and cognitive outcomes. This research project was awarded an Implant Innovation Scholarship by the University of Sydney. The initial findings of the study, which are encouraging were presented at the 2018 Oral Rehabilitation Symposium and has been published on the Foundations of Oral Rehabilitation (FOR) learning platform. Dr Tan has also published a chapter on occlusal considerations with implant rehabilitation in the Prosthodontics and Implants: Fundamentals and Clinical Practice textbook.
