Dr Christopher JR McGrath is a male Specialist Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon.

Dr Christopher McGrath completed his undergraduate dental degree at the University of Melbourne in 1988. After spending three years as a dental officer at No. 6 Royal Australian Air Force Hospital, he was accepted for further training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Washington in Seattle, USA. He has also undertaken surgical training in Arnhem, The Netherlands, and has been admitted to Fellowship at the Royal College of Surgeons of England, the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (Oral Surgery), the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery). Dr McGrath has also been admitted as a member of the Faculty of Dental Surgical Trainers in addition to his Fellowship with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

Dr McGrath is a member of a number of professional associations including the Australian Dental Association, the Australian and New Zealand Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the British Association of Oral Surgeons, and the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

He has also lectured locally, interstate, and internationally on surgical reconstruction of the jaws and dentition, management of facial trauma, and surgical management of the temporomandibular joint. He is also involved in training the next generation of oral and maxillofacial surgeons through his appointment as a Senior Medical Specialist at Geelong Hospital, Barwon Health.

This background of both national and international training gives Dr McGrath a unique approach to his specialty with a wide range of experience, allowing him to view issues from a broader perspective. Each patient is viewed as an individual and is treated like a member of the family.
