Dr Catherine J Doyle is a female Specialist Periodontist.
Dr Catherine Doyle decided to pursue a career in dentistry in 2002, having graduated with a Bachelor of Biomedical Science degree with first class honours from The University of Adelaide and completing 2 years of postgraduate research. She joined the Royal Australian Navy and completed her dental degree at The University of Sydney in 2006. Catherine subsequently moved to Perth to take on the role as a dental officer in the Royal Australian Navy.
She worked as a dentist in the Defence Force and private practice for 4 years prior to undertaking specialist training in Periodontics at The University of Adelaide in 2011. During her training she undertook research on the role of antibiotics as an adjunctive treatment for periodontal disease, particularly in treating its aggressive and refractory forms. On obtaining her Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry, she started practicing as a Periodontist at Western Periodontics, as well as with the Royal Australian Navy at HMAS STIRLING, where she holds the rank of Lieutenant Commander. Through her work in the Defence Force, Catherine has developed an interest in management of acute and chronic periodontal conditions associated with stress. Furthermore, through her background in biomedical research she has developed a keen interest in the treatment of periodontal disease in patients suffering from systemic health conditions such as diabetes.
Catherine is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Periodontists, Australian Society of Periodontology (WA), and the International Team for Implantology. Catherine practices the full range of periodontal procedures including treatment for periodontal disease, general periodontal surgery, dental implant placement surgery and management of peri-implant disease.
