Dr Anel Blignaut is a female Specialist Orthodontist who speaks Afrikaans and Netherlandic (as well as English).
Dr Anél Blignaut was born and raised in Newcastle, South Africa. She completed her Bachelors in Surgery and Dentistry at the University of Stellenbosch as well as a Post-Graduate Diploma in Clinical Dentistry from the University of the Western Cape.
Following graduation, she worked in a dental practice in the Netherlands for two years after which she took a sabbatical year and traveled around the world. She fell in love with Sydney during her brief visit here and at the end of 2007 relocated to Cairns, Australia. She worked alongside an orthodontist in the School Dental Clinics and rediscovered her passion for orthodontics and improving smiles.
Anél pursued her interest and completed her specialist training as an orthodontist at the University of Sydney, simultaneously obtaining Membership to the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. She is currently a member of the Australian Society of Orthodontists and is certified by the Australian Orthodontic Board.
Anél enjoys treating both children and adults with an emphasis on achieving facial and dental harmony. Her focus is on clinical excellence and she provides a wide range of orthodontic treatment including aesthetic and invisible appliances such as the Lingual braces (Incognito) and Invisalign. She is very approachable and is always happy to answer any questions or concerns regarding early orthodontic intervention. She looks forward to getting involved in the Manly Warringah community.
