Dr Alexander Khominsky is a male Specialist Periodontist who speaks Russian (as well as English).
Dr Alex Khominsky grew up in the SE suburbs of Melbourne. He has been passionate about oral health since his early years and graduated with a BDS from the University of Adelaide as DUX of his class, including Pierre Fauchard Academy Award, Moore Medallion, Executive Dean's Certificate of Merit and the South Australian Dental Service Prize. His research interests also led him to complete a concurrent BScDent (Honours) in Craniofacial Biology which resulted in a few publications. He then returned to Melbourne and family, working at the Alfred Hospital as a Dental Officer, publishing a paper on Osteonecrosis of the Jaw while looking after patients who were undergoing organ transplants, cancer treatment, trauma, bleeding conditions and immunocompromised. There he further developed his passion for dental medicine, before working privately for several years in SE suburbs of Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula while teaching dental students at the University of Melbourne. He then returned to the University of Melbourne as a postgraduate, completing his DCD Specialty in Periodontics.
Alex is a member of ITI and Australian Society of Periodontology, regular attender of Australian Osseointegration Society. He is also Director of General Dental Residency, an institution dedicated to the comprehensive education of graduate dentists and oral health therapists.
Alex has a special interest in periodontal medicine, implants and bone and soft tissue grafting to enhance functional, aesthetic and longevity outcomes. Alex has joined Perio Centre as a centre of excellence in periodontal and surgical care for patients to continue providing the highest quality of care. Alex consults and treats in Malvern, Blackrock and regionally in Wodonga. He also offers treatment under sedation in the Malvern rooms.
