Dr Akila S Vithanage is a male Specialist Periodontist.
I studied Dentistry (BDSc) at Griffith University and graduated with First Class Honours in 2015. My interest in periodontics led me to undertake specialist training through the University of Sydney and the University of Queensland, which I completed in 2020. I am also a member of the International Team for Implantology (ITI). I then worked in Sydney, in my own private practice, and in the Hunter New England district for NSW Health before settling in Queensland.
As a Periodontist at PerioHEALTH and Implants, I specialise in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of periodontal disease, and in the placement of dental implants. I take great pride in establishing ongoing positive relationships with patients throughout all stages of their treatment and management.
Away from work, I enjoy spending time in the gym and engaging in continuing professional development in periodontics, a field I feel very fortunate to have been offered the opportunity to specialise in.
