Dr Agnes WM Poon is a female Specialist Periodontist who speaks Cantonese and Mandarin (as well as English).
Agnes is originally from Hong Kong. She speaks fluent Cantonese and Mandarin although her first language is English. Agnes graduated from the University of Queensland with honours in Dentistry. In 2000, Agnes was awarded a Periodontology prize from the Australian Society of Periodontology. She worked as a general dentist on the Gold Coast prior to completing her Masters in Periodontics in 2005. Her research during her masters’ degree was on the effects of ageing on oral health, with special interest in the relationship between periodontal disease and women’s health. Agnes was awarded her fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Australia in the specialty of Periodontics in 2006.
