DMD (Syd), General Dentist
Dr Adam J Yurka is a male General Dentist.
Born and raised in the South of Sydney, Dr Adam Yurka’s passion for science and biology began with the first 3D anatomy book he received in kindergarten.
Adam completed his secondary education at De La Salle College, receiving a Science Dux Award and Science Ethics Award. He first graduated with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Anatomy and Physiology, from the University of Sydney and received first class honours for his research in Embryology. While studying, Adam also volunteered at Calvary Health Care in Kogarah as a rehabilitation assistant. His experience at Calvary furthered his appreciation and value of the little things that can impact a patient’s happiness and wellbeing – an invaluable lesson that no amount of books can teach.
Adam went on to complete a Doctor of Dental Medicine at the University of Sydney, receiving a Dux award from the Australian Society of Periodontology. He enjoys meeting new people, which is demonstrated through in his patient-centered approach. From the moment a patient walks through the door, they know that Adam is with them each step of the way.
Having had the opportunity to practice dentistry in Sydney and rural NSW, Adam has now settled into long term practice in the beautiful coastal city of Wollongong. Here, Adam has developed a strong interest in cosmetic dentistry, periodontology (gum and bone disease) and implantology, as well as assisting anxious patients through sleep dentistry (treatment under general anesthetic).
